I realize that some of this guy's remarks are tongue-in-cheek, but this is the sort of exclusivist, "Im a real Christian, and you're not," cant that irritates me. I'm pretty sure that, long before Tim Tebow was around, people knew of prominent Christians such as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Teddy Kennedy, Dwight Eisenhower, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The vast majority of people in this country are Christians - not just the evangelicals. What you have here, on the part of evangelicals, is an example of the No True Scotsman maneuver. Millions of Christians don't count as Christians because they differ on this or that point of doctrine. Christianity has been around for thousands of years, and no one group gets to define who is allowed to call himself a Christian.
